I do not think this is funny.

The Ambanis are also people who have worked on the ground and helped hundreds and thousands of people build their homes in earth-quake devastated areas. They also are people who run hospitals and schools in multiple locations. True, the press does not like to talk about these things, because they do not make a good story. Also, they have not yet figured out the art of making sure their philanthrophy wins friends in US - but they have plenty of friends in the land they were raised in.

No doubt there are big problems in the world, and all the riches in the world may be required to solve them - but that does not mean being rich is bad, or mean, or selfish.

Funny, but not as funny as other columns writen by Durai.

It never fails to amaze me as to why the rich have to flaunt their wealth. I always wondered anyone would need 27 floors when there are just 6 of them? Isn't that a wee bit too much? They don't need to live frugally, but is there really a need for the affluent to be so extravagant? And regarding their philantrophic deeds, I am sure they are contributing like there is no tomorrow. Have money, will spend! :)

Mukesh is rich enough to contribute millions of dollars to Bill and Hillary Clinton, if only politicians would not be so ethically and he is also rich enough to buy his very own island in the Pacific, even if only for sale in Australia.
